A huge statement of intent from the Sheffield Steeldogs with the confirmation that Ivan Björkly Nordström has signed a two-year, two-way contract with the Steelers and Steeldogs.
Ivan had a most productive season in Peterborough last year scoring 23 league goals and 49 points in just 48 games. He followed that up with an impressive 6 goals and 13 points in the 8 play off games that secured the Phantoms with their play-off crown.
Head coach Ben Morgan welcomed the deal saying “The move to acquire Ivan’s signature and services in Sheffield for the next two seasons is the latest statement of intent by the club.
“In Ivan we believe we have an incredible talent who over the next two years can grow with the view to nurturing his game as part of the two-way agreement.
“Our fans will need no introduction to Ivan having seen first-hand just how influential he was to Peterborough’s success last season. A big guy who I’m sure will make a big impact for us this season”.
Speaking about the move Ivan commented “I can’t wait for the season to get started with Sheffield, I have had good communication with the leadership at the club and it feels like Sheffield will be a great fit.
“It will be an honour to play for this club and for the fans”.
