The TriggerHub Sheffield Steeldogs are excited to announce the re-signing of netminder Dan Crowe for the 2025/2026 season.
Dan joined the Sheffield Steeldogs ahead of the 2023/24 season, bringing a strong presence between the pipes. A dependable netminder with international experience, he spent much of his junior career in the US, including the 2022/23 campaign with the Nashville Spartans before joining the Milton Keynes Lightning in the NIHL. Since arriving in Sheffield, Dan has quickly established himself as a key part of the Steeldogs’ goaltending unit, providing consistency, leadership, and crucial saves when it matters most.

Steeldogs GM Jamie McIlroy on the re-signing of Dan Crowe:
“We’re really pleased to have Dan back with us again this Season. His level of compete and in-game focus are second to none. He’s the type of player who never gives up on a play and thrives on pressure situations. At just 21 years old, he already has three Season’s of experience in the League and continues to impress us with his drive to improve. We’re looking forward to him taking another step forward in his development this year.
We’re committed to building a roster that pushes each other to be better every single day. With Dan in the mix, the goaltending department gains the intensity and competition it needs to succeed at the highest level.
He’s become a fan favourite for his fiery performances and all-out effort between the pipes, and the Club is confident the Steeldogs supporters will be thrilled with this important re-signing.”

Dan Crowe on signing for a third straight season:
“I’m so excited to be coming back to the Dogs for a third straight season. From being a 10-year-old kid who had the opportunity of playing for Sheffield Lasers for two straight seasons with Ron Shudra as my coach dreaming about playing for The Dogs, to now stepping back into the net for my third year with the Steeldogs—it’s surreal. I could never have imagined this when I first joined the Academy.
After six incredible years developing in the U.S., coming back to where it all started has meant everything to me. To be trusted by this organisation and to have the fans behind me again is a real privilege.
Sheffield will always be my hockey home and I can’t wait to get back between the pipes and give all I have for this team for what I believe will be a season like no other.”
