The TriggerHub Sheffield Steeldogs are delighted to confirm Lewis Jones will stand alongside Head Coach Slava Koulikov for the 2025/26 season.
Lewis is no stranger to the Steeldogs, having spent a brief spell behind the bench during the 2023/24 season.
Lewis arrives in Sheffield following a successful year with the Romford Raiders, where he made a strong impact behind the bench. Last season, he guided the Raiders to an impressive cup run, highlighted by a memorable semi-final victory over Milton Keynes.

Bringing both experience and energy, Lewis will add valuable support to Koulikov and the Steeldogs coaching staff as the team prepares for the challenges of the upcoming campaign.

Slava Koulikov: “I’m very pleased to welcome Lewis to our club as Assistant Coach.
Lewis has done great job last season supporting head coach in Romford, earning a strong reputation for his work ethic, professionalism, and ability to connect with players.
This will be our first time working together, and I’m genuinely excited to build a strong coaching partnership. I believe we share the same values when it comes to preparation, accountability, and creating the right environment for players to thrive. I’m confident Lewis will play a key role in driving our team forward, and I look forward to what we can achieve together this season.”
Lewis Jones on his return: “I’m absolutely delighted to be returning to Steeldogs. Working with Slava is an amazing opportunity for me to develop and grow as a coach. Having come so close in the cup last season, I’d love nothing more but to go one step further and win some silverware with the group that we are building here. I can’t wait to get going in September.”
Our first home game of the new season takes place on Friday, 12th September, when we welcome local rivals, the Leeds Knights, to the Bauer Arena for a pre-season “friendly.” This will be your first opportunity to see the 25/26 roster in action on home ice, featuring plenty of exciting new faces.
