The first period was a 0-0 stalemate with both teams getting chances at each end. Both netminders Brady Parker and Cole Ceci had a great game.
Heading into the second both teams wanted to break the deadlock. Romford did just that at 28:20 with Jake Sylvester getting the puck past Parker to give Romford the one goal advantage. The second period finishes with the Raiders leading 1-0.
Steeldogs knew there was a lot of pressure on them to get the game tied and push for victory. CJ Garcia ripped the puck from the point with Brady Doxey knocking the puck home on the powerplay to make it 1-1 at 55:05.
The game couldn’t be settled in regulation so we played some 3-on-3 overtime. At 62:52 Shaun Miller scored the game winning goal giving the Raiders a hard earned 2 points away from home.
We have no home game next weekend as we are on the road in Milton Keynes and Telford. We hope to see you on the road with us! If you can’t then we will see you Sunday 7th December!
