Steeldogs Fall Short On The Road In Swindon

It was a competitive night on the road as the Sheffield Steeldogs faced off against the Swindon Wildcats in a closely contested game.

The hosts struck first at 3:29 through Edgars Bebris, before the Steeldogs responded quickly. At 4:59, Liam Steele found the net with a well-worked goal, assisted by Jonathan Kirk and Walker Sommer, bringing the game level early on.

The second period saw chances at both ends, but discipline began to play a role. Penalties against Bair Gendunov at 26:49 and David Phillips at 36:09 allowed Swindon to take control. The Wildcats capitalised on the power play at 36:56 through Caden Villegas, before adding another at 38:38 from Dylan Lipsey to take a 3–1 lead into the final period.

Sheffield pushed to get back into the game and were handed an opportunity when Swindon were penalised at 44:38. The Steeldogs made it count at 47:08, with Bailey Yates finishing from Ivan Björkly-Nordström and Ben Morgan to close the gap to one.

Late pressure followed, including a timeout at 59:25, but despite their efforts the Steeldogs were unable to find an equaliser.

A hard-fought performance, but ultimately a narrow defeat on the road.
