The DSM Sheffield Steeldogs took to the ice on Thursday for their second training session of pre-season, with a number of Sheffield Steelers players joining them ahead of their own training camp getting underway on Saturday.
With Steelers players arriving in Sheffield throughout the week, the session provided a great opportunity for both groups to get back on the ice, compete and begin building towards the 2026/27 season.
The spirits were high throughout the session, with plenty of intensity and competition from the very start as players looked to get their legs back under them following the summer break.
While some players choose to continue skating throughout the summer, others take the opportunity to step away from the ice before returning for pre-season. As a result, these early sessions are an important part of getting everyone back up to speed and ready for the season ahead.
With both teams now preparing for an exciting 2026/27 campaign, there is plenty for Sheffield hockey fans to look forward to.
