Catch Up With The Coach part 2

After casting an eye over his roster, Jason Hewitt spoke about a couple of players who he expected to be having a big season and really make their mark in 23/24 with the Bradfield Brewery Sheffield Steeldogs.

‘I’ll be looking to Vlads to have a big season. He came to us last year and took a little time to settle but once he figured everything out he was a real force to be reckoned with. Naturally I’ll want Jono to come in and produce. It’ll take a little adjustment for him, he will have more time on the ice and more time on the puck. Palmer looks good again, he’s come back ready to go. I hope I can play him in the middle, I can help him there.’

Hewy has been checking out the opposition and here are his thoughts:

‘I’ve had a look at the other rosters in the National Division. There are a lot of new faces and a few big names. It’s possible to find a hidden gem with your imports, so it will be interesting to see the new signings across the league.’

Hewy gave his thoughts on the quality of the league:

‘The league has developed and improved massively – I just know that when a team comes into Sheffield, we will be making sure it won’t be an easy night for them. There are some great young British players on show this year and some great older British players included on rosters. With the third import, it looks like the standard is going to rise.’

‘I think we are in a good spot. The group we have are an accountable group. We are raring to go!’
