Steeldogs finish of the weekend with a BIG win in the Yorkshire Derby away in Leeds! 4 point weekend secured as well!
The Steeldogs began the first period being the dominant team. The Dogs made sure that they didn’t make silly mistakes early on that would cost them goals. It took just 36 seconds for the Steeldogs to open the scoring. Who else would it be than the man himself Walker Sommer to score the first goal of the night. That would be the only goal in the opening 20 minutes.
Steeldogs got off to another hot start in the second period. This time it took 1:02 into the second when Bair Gendunov scored the second of the game. Just over a minute later Nathan Ripley scored a third for the Steeldogs making it 0-3. Oli Endicott saw red and took an early shower after jumping CJ Garcia. A 5 minute powerplay for the Steeldogs. Nathan Ripley scored his second on this powerplay at 29:52 to make it 4-0. Leeds managed to get themself a goal through Kieran Brown at 34:51. The second period ended 4-1 to the Steeldogs.
Steeldogs knew they had to keep full focus in the final period knowing what Leeds are capable of. 2:07 into the third Walker Sommer scored his second of the game. Leeds managed to scrape a second goal which was again scored by Kieran Brown at 47:49. The win was in touching distance for the Steeldogs, Liam Steele finished the game off with a snipe which went straight past Gospel at 58:35.
