Nathan Ripley finished the scoring in the first period firing a hard shot past Lavigne to make it 4-0.

Peterborough got a goal of their own through Corey McEwen just 24 seconds into the second period. The game then evened out with both teams getting some decent chances but both goalies were standing tall.

Steeldogs came out in the third period with just over 5 minutes played in the third Gendunov got his hattrick goal making it 5-1 to the Steeldogs. At 54:18 former Steeldog Morgan Clarke-Pizzo rifled the puck past Alex Oldale scoring the Phantoms’ second of the night. That wouldn’t be the last of the action though as Ivan Bjorkly-Nordstrom sniped the puck top shelf on Lavigne on the powerplay rounding of the game with a final score of Sheffield Steeldogs 6-2 Peterborough Phantoms.

Nathan Ripley was given the man of the match honours.
