We are delighted to welcome Joonas Larinmaa, a seasoned Finnish forward, to the Sheffield Steeldogs for the 2025/26 season. 

Hailing from Turku, Finland, Joonas arrives with a wealth of European experience—particularly in Finland’s Mestis league, the country’s second tier—where over the years he has built a reputation for consistency, smart playmaking, and leadership on the ice. 

During the 2024–25 season, he split his time between TUTO Hockey and JoKP, bringing veteran presence and strong two-way contributions in every shift.  Beyond Finland, Joonas has also made his mark in the Alps Hockey League with HDD Jesenice, where his impact helped his team secure the league crown. 

Head Coach Slava Koulikov expressed his excitement at the signing, highlighting Joonas’s high hockey IQ, playmaking instincts, energy and competitive drive—qualities that should elevate our attacking game and bring depth to the roster. 

Joonas himself has said he’s “really excited about this next stage” and is eager to prove that he still has his best hockey ahead of him.
