Michael Pelech is a vastly experienced Canadian forward who brings a wealth of professional hockey experience to the Sheffield Steeldogs. Drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in the sixth round of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, Pelech has enjoyed a distinguished career spanning more than 1000 professional games across North America and Europe.

The Toronto native spent the majority of his career in the ECHL where he established himself as one of the league’s most respected and durable players. Kown for his leadership, physical presence and offensive consistency, Pelech become the ECHL’s all-time leading in games played while recording over 700 career points.

Alongside his success in North America, Pelech also iced the Elite Ice Hockey league with both the Glasgow Clan and Coventry Blaze, where he quickly became a fan favourite thanks to his work ethic and professionalism, and ability to contribute at both ends of the ice.

Now joining the Sheffield Steeldogs, Pelech brings invaluable experience and leadership to the locker room. His arrival is regarded as one the most significant signings in recent NIHL history, adding proven quality, character and a winning mentality to the Steeldogs roster.
