One Proud Assistant Captain

New coach, new leadership group, one proud Assistant Captain!

One player who has the Bradfield Brewery Sheffield Steeldogs running through his veins is Tim Smith. Head Coach Jason Hewitt has named Tim as one of his Assistant Captains and no one is prouder to wear to wear the A than Tim.

‘For me this is a massive honour – to be able to wear an A again for the team means a lot. It’s a role I’ve done before and I take immense pride in representing a club that is so close to my heart. I am going to give everything I can to lead the boys as much as I can. I think my experience from the past and my time in Sheffield will be called on and of course I want to help the lads along the way and be part of developing some of the players of the future.’

‘We already have massive leaders in the changing room, we are a very fortunate group of players. Our room is a great place to be for the young players coming through – the chance to learn alongside our experienced players and be around them will be invaluable.’

‘I don’t think having the A will change how I play or how I am too much. Although I haven’t had a letter on my shirt for a few years, I have always spoken up in the room and put myself forward in situations. If you feel a certain way, it should be natural to speak up and give your point of view. On the ice, I will always give my all for the team and hopefully together we can push forward.’

Come and show your support for Tim and the Sheffield Steeldogs as they take on the Hull Seahawks on Thursday night, 7:30pm face off.
