Born on 4 June 1990 in Markham, Ontario, Canada, Owen has enjoyed an extensive professional career spanning several countries and leagues. His journey has taken him through the ECHL and SPHL in North America before successful spells in Sweden’s HockeyAllsvenskan, Poland, and the UK’s Elite Ice Hockey League. His wealth of experience has seen him establish himself as one of the most recognisable goaltenders in British ice hockey, consistently delivering strong performances while facing a high volume of shots.
Ahead of the 2026–27 season, Owen joined the Sheffield Steeldogs following his departure from the Fife Flyers, bringing invaluable experience, leadership and professionalism to the club. His arrival provides the Steeldogs with a composed and reliable last line of defence, while his vocal communication and ability to read the game help organise the players in front of him.
