Steeldogs 1-4 Knights

The league leaders took the points in this Yorkshire derby. Bolstered by new signing Jordan Buesa, the Knights took control in the middle period of the game.

A 0-0 first period saw the Steeldogs work hard from the puck drop and show some good offence, creative forward play and solid work in defence. The Knights had their chances too but were held to limited opportunities.

Within a minute of the restart, the Knights were ahead through McMullin who drove in from the point. Buesa was next to score for the Knights getting his first for the club on 31:51. Archer put the visitors further ahead in the 35th minute of the period. 0-3

The Dogs picked themselves up after the tough second period and came out with more determination and worked hard to create chances in front of goal and gave Gospel work to do to keep the score down. The persistence of the Steeldogs was rewarded on 43:59 as Bissonnette scored. From here the Dogs tried to kick on a get closer to the Knights. They took Zimozdra to the bench for the extra attacker but this resulted in an empty net goal for Buesa.
