Steeldogs Expect Fierce Fight in First Meeting with Sharks
This Friday marks the first meeting of the season between the Steeldogs and the Solway Sharks.
Solway may still be searching for their first points of the campaign after four games, but don’t let the standings fool you, the Sharks have been battling hard on the road and making life difficult for every opponent they’ve faced so far.
The Steeldogs know to expect nothing less than a fierce contest when the puck drops at IceSheffield. Fans can look forward to an intense matchup as both sides look to make a statement early in the season.
Steeldogs Battle Through Week 2 After Big Opening Weekend
The Steeldogs got their season underway with a bang in Week 1, securing a BIG 4-point weekend after impressive wins against both the Hull Seahawks and Romford Raiders. Confidence was high, and momentum was building as the team looked ahead to Week 2 with a home double-header at IceSheffield.
Friday saw Peterborough make the trip north, followed by Swindon on Sunday, in what promised to be two exciting matchups in front of the Steeldogs faithful. Despite battling hard across both games, it wasn’t to be this time. The Dogs came up short but did manage to earn a valuable point, something that could play an important role later in the season as the standings tighten up.
Steeldogs Building Momentum Despite Weekend Setbacks
Head Coach Slava Koulikov and his team are now working hard in training this week, sharpening up and making the adjustments needed to bounce back stronger. With another big weekend of hockey on the horizon, the Steeldogs are determined to be ready for the challenge.
