The TriggerHub Sheffield Steeldogs are delighted to announce the signing of highly rated Canadian forward Bair Gendunov for the 2025/2026 season.

The club are pleased to announce the signing of 25-year-old forward Gendunov, who joins the team after a standout season with SC Riessersee in Germany’s Oberliga (third tier).
Gendunov becomes the latest addition from the Oberliga, following in the footsteps of Walker Sommer, who also made the move to the Steeldogs from the same league.
During his time with SC Riessersee, Gendunov made an immediate impact, tallying an impressive 64 points in 51 games across all competitions. His season included 29 goals and 36 assists, showcasing his ability to contribute both as a goal scorer and playmaker.

Bair Gendunov on his move to the Steeldogs:
“I’m absolutely thrilled to be signing with the Sheffield Steeldogs! From the moment talks began, I’ve had really good conversations with both the new head coach, Slava and the General Manager, Jamie. Their vision for the team and their passion for the game made it an easy decision for me. I’m excited to be joining an organization with such a strong identity and dedicated fanbase.”
“I can’t wait to get to Sheffield, meet the new teammates, and get to work. I’m looking forward to a great season ahead and doing everything I can to help the team succeed. The ultimate goal is to bring a championship to Sheffield, and I’m ready to give it everything I’ve got to help make that happen!”

Head Coach Slava Koulikov on the signing of Bair Gendunov:
“I have been following and staying in touch with Bair over the last two seasons, and I’m really happy he will be joining our team.
One of the key areas we want to improve this season is production. Bair has an outstanding shot, he will help us score goals at even strength, in tight situations, and will play a big role on our special teams as well.
Bair is not just a goal scorer, he’s an all-round talented player with exceptional skill and high hockey IQ. Most importantly, he’s hungry to win. He will be a really good fit for what we’re trying to build, and I’m looking forward to working with him.”

The club looks forward to welcoming Gendunov to Sheffield as preparations continue for the upcoming campaign.
