The DSM Sheffield Steeldogs and Slava Koulikov are pleased to confirm the club’s coaching team for the 2026/2027 campaign.
Ahead of the new season, a number of changes have been made behind the scenes as the Steeldogs continue to strengthen the organisation on and off the ice.
Joining Head Coach Slava Koulikov on the coaching staff will be three experienced members of the playing roster, with Michael Pelech, Jonathan Phillips and Walker Sommer all taking on additional coaching responsibilities alongside their playing duties throughout the season.
The trio will work closely with Slava, bringing their wealth of knowledge and experience to the team both on the ice and behind the bench.
In detail, each player’s role will look like this:
- Michael Pelech has been named as Player Assistant Coach.
- Jonathan Phillips will take a role as our Special Teams Coach.
- Walker Sommer will take on the role as Skills Development Coach.
The additions highlight the club’s commitment to developing both its players and coaching structure, with a wealth of experience now available throughout the dressing room.
With an expanded coaching team in place, the Steeldogs continue to build towards what is shaping up to be an exciting 2026/2027 season, as the club looks to take another step forward both on and off the ice.
