The Steeldogs went into the second game of the weekend facing the Basingstoke Bison. Bison had already played Friday and Saturday night. Steeldogs knew that there would be some big chances in this game and that tiredness would get the better of Basingstoke.
The first period was an even period with both teams going toe to toe with neither team getting on the scoresheet until 19:30. Ivan Bjorkly-Nordstrom got the Steeldogs’ lead.
Basingstoke came out quickly in the first with Will Stead who scored 2:11 into the second period. Steeldogs answered back just minutes later with Ivan Bjorkly-Nordstrom getting his second of the night. Jonathan Phillips scored the Steeldogs’ third goal giving the Dogs a 3-1 lead. At 36:25 CJ Garcia and Luke Spadafora had a disagreement. CJ got the better of Spadafora and they both sat five for fightning.
Period three saw pure domination from the Steeldogs. Just over a minute into the period Joonas Larinmaa scored the fourth goal. Which was closely followed by a our fifth from Jonathan Phillips getting his second of the game. Less than a minute later Liam Steele made it six for the Steeldogs. At 58:08 Joonas Larinmaa scored his second and put the game to bed!
