Steeldogs Expect a Tough Battle in First Meeting with Lightning
This Sunday marks the first meeting of the season between the Steeldogs and the Milton Keynes Lightning
MK have shown what they can do to teams this season, but there is still the struggle on the road for the Lightning which they know. We fully expect MK to come to Sheffield all guns blazing from the first puck drop to the final buzzer.
The Steeldogs know to expect nothing less than a tough battle when the puck drops at IceSheffield. Fans can look forward to an intense matchup as both sides look to make a statement early in the season.
Steeldogs Showing Many Positives in Week 3
Last weekend the Steeldogs took on the Solway Sharks where fans were treated to an 11-goal thriller! Solway don’t have a home rink at the moment with Dumfries Ice Bowl undergoing a mulit-million pound renovation. They’re expected to return home at the end of the month. Solway came to Sheffield showing a lot of positive performances on the road so far. They gave the Steeldogs a big test and took the Steeldogs right to the end. Solway went away with the 2 points after winning 6-5.
On Saturday the Steeldogs made a trip to Bristol. Knowing that Bristol didn’t play on Friday night the Steeldogs knew the Pitbulls would have fresh legs. From minute one in the game the Steeldogs played an impressive road game coming away with the 3-2 win after overtime. Steeldogs picked up two vital points on the road which also went towards the cup.
