SWINDON TAKE OUT THE STEELDOGS

Tonight, the TriggerHub Sheffield Steeldogs made the trip down south to take on the Swindon Wildcats. Spirits were high all day ahead of the game.

Period one started with the Steeldogs making their mark after just 3:01 with Ivan Bjorkly-Nordstrom putting the Steeldogs in the lead with assist from Joonas Larinmaa and Olly Knaggs. Swindon quickly answered back with Sam Godfrey firing the puck past Oldale at 3:26. The game swung in Swindon’s favour with Aaron Nell adding Swindon’s second of the night at 5:12. The Steeldogs were down by just one goal after the first 20 minutes.

Going into period two the Steeldogs knew they were still in the game with plenty of hockey left to play. Ryan Wells added Swindon’s third goal of the night at 21:26. Which was followed up by another from Wells to make it 4-1 to the Wildcats at 24:29. Swindon were buzzing so they went and scored a 5th which was put away by Tyler Watkins and 24:59. Cole Shudra managed to get a breakaway opportunity late on in the period which he fired straight past Marr to get a second goal on the board for the Steeldogs.

The third period was an improved period from the Steeldogs, but it still wasn’t enough to be able to bring themselves back into the game.

Final Score: Swindon Wildcats 5-2 Sheffield Steeldogs
