TENSIONS FLARE – STEELDOGS GAIN 2 MORE POINTS ON THE ROAD

The Steeldogs hit the road for another away game. This week we made the trip to Basingstoke. It took the Steeldogs just 34 seconds to open the scoring. CJ Garcia with a wrist shot from the point which was originally going wide but it took a deflection on the way through. At 2:21Michael Danecko and Liam Morris decided to drop the gloves and they went and sat 5 each for fighting. The second goal of the night wasn’t far away either with Joonas Larinmaa getting a goal of his own at 6:30. Bison got themselves on the board through Luke Spadafora at 11:51. After the Bison goal there was a disagreement between CJ Garcia and Zack Milton and they decided to have it out as well. They both sat five for fightning.

The second period was a quiet period as neither team managed to find the back of the net.

Tensions flared early in the third once again after a boarding on Jacob Brammer who left the game. Captain Jonathan Kirk stepped in and thrown a couple a punches on Wilson. Kirk sat five for fighting as did Hallam Wilson but he had an additional two for the boarding on Jacob. Steeldogs went on to score on this powerplay with Bair Gendunov making it 3-1 Steeldogs. Tempers continued to boil for the remainder of the game. At 53:57 Walker Sommer pretty much put the game to bed making it 4-1. Bison got themselves a second at 58:29.

Final score: Basingstoke Bison 2-4 Sheffield Steeldogs

Man of the Match went to Walker Sommer who netted two goals in the game.
