The Journey isn’t close to being over for Morgan
Ben Morgan is back with the Sheffield Streeldogs for a 14th season.
Whatever has been asked of Ben over the past decade and a half he has delivered, player, assistant captain, captain and more recently player coach – all this on top of holding down a demanding full time job in Education
After playing his junior hockey in Sheffield, Morgan progressed to the Scimitars in 2005, was an assistant captain for the following two seasons before wearing the C for the first time in 2008
A year with the Steelers followed in 2009-10 where he played 58 league and play off games for the club
After a year with the Manchester Phoenix, Morgan would return to Sheffield where he would start this incredible for season Steeldogs career playing 628 league and 39 play off games for the club
“We’re absolutely thrilled to have Morgs returning to our defensive core next season” said new head coach Slava Koulikov
“Morgs commitment to this club is second to none, and his leadership has been a cornerstone of the Steeldogs locker room for many seasons.
“On the ice, his composure, experience, and hockey IQ make him an invaluable asset. Off the ice, he’s just as important, a great attitude and a team-first mentality that lifts everyone around him.
“Morgs is a true professional, a fierce competitor, and above all, a fantastic teammate. I’m looking forward to working with him”.”

Ben Morgan said “It doesn’t feel like 14 years but I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity to be able to play for our club again next season”.
“We’ve made an excellent appointment in Slava and I’m really looking forward to playing under his leadership having heard nothing but positive things about his coaching style and philosophy.
“I will continue, as always to give my all for the club and help in anyway I can to push forward it’s progression”
