The TriggerHub Sheffield Steeldogs can confirm the re-signing of 19-year-old dfenceman Ollie Turner for the 2025/2026 season.
Ollie returns for his fourth consecutive season with the Steeldogs, having first joined the team in the 2022/2023 campaign as a promising 17-year-old. Since then, he has continued to develop his game and establish himself as a reliable presence on the blue line.

Ollie on his return to the dogs:
“The club is moving in a great direction which made it an easy decision to come back, with the coaching staff and players signed I am confident we will compete this year and be successful. I cant wait to get back on the ice and get the season started!”

General Manager Jamie McIlroy:
“Ollie’s a kid that impressed me with his work ethic and commitment to the cause from the very first game I ever watched him play for the Steeldogs. He works hard, and is always receptive to feedback about how he can improve his game.
He’s got all the physical attributes to be a dominant shut-down Defenseman in this League; and at 19, he’s only going to get better and develop further over these formative years.
He’s a product of the Sheffield Academy, and one that we want to see succeed and become a mainstay at the back-end for many years to come. He fits perfectly with our objective to give homegrown players the opportunity to succeed within their hometown Senior team.
I know that he’s fully focused and working hard to make sure that he’s raring to go for the new Season.”
