Steeldogs Claim Derby Day Bragging Rights with Gritty Win in Hull

The Sheffield Steeldogs took derby day bragging rights with a 5-4 win over the Hull Seahawks in a pulsating clash at Hull Ice Arena.

Hull struck first through Owen Sobchak, but Sheffield responded with goals from Ivan Björkly-Nordström and CJ Garcia to lead after one.

The sides traded blows in the second, Declan Jones equalising for Hull before Joonas Larinmaa struck twice to give the Steeldogs a 4-2 advantage heading into the final period.

Björkly-Nordström added a power-play goal early in the third, but Hull fought back as Sobchak completed his hat trick to make it 5-4. Despite late pressure, Sheffield held firm to seal the points.
