Earlier this morning, the club confirmed the re-signing of Canadian forward Bair Gendunov.
It is a signing that Steeldogs fans have been eagerly awaiting, with speculation throughout the summer linking the fan favourite with a move to a higher level following an outstanding debut season in orange.

However, despite the interest, Bair had only one destination in mind. After a stellar first year with the Steeldogs, Gendunov never looked beyond Sheffield and was keen to return to the organisation for the 2026/27 campaign.
His decision to re-sign is a huge boost for the club as preparations continue for the defence of their cup crown and another exciting season at IceSheffield.
“I’m absolutely buzzing to be coming back for another year. From the moment I arrived in Sheffield last season, everyone made me feel at home, and that meant everything to me. We’ve shared some incredible memories together, and I’ve loved every minute of playing in front of the best fans.
Every time I pulled on the jersey, I gave it everything I had, and I always felt that support behind me. Winning the cup with you guys is a memory I’ll carry with me forever, and I can’t wait to hopefully create even more special moments this season.
A huge thank you to all the fans, your support never goes unnoticed. I’m really looking forward to seeing you all again soon!”
