Steeldogs Well Represented in Frank Dempster Trophy

Last weekend, the England U19s travelled north to Dundee to take on Scotland U19s in the annual Frank Dempster Trophy, with several Sheffield Steeldogs players involved in the fixture.

Steeldogs forward Bailey Yates iced for Scotland, while fellow Steeldogs players Joe Matthewman, Fin Williams and Elliott Russan represented England in the contest.

The game provided a unique opportunity for teammates to become opponents for the weekend, with Yates lining up against several familiar faces from IceSheffield.

Joe Matthewman enjoyed a standout weekend, lighting the lamp three times in Sunday’s game to record a hat-trick for England.

The Frank Dempster Trophy is an important fixture in the junior international calendar, bringing together some of the best young talent from across Great Britain. The Steeldogs were proudly represented on both sides of the rivalry, highlighting the strength of the club’s development pathway and the exciting young talent currently progressing through the organisation.

A special congratulations goes to Joe Matthewman, Fin Williams and Elliott Russan, who helped England lift the Frank Dempster Trophy following their victory over Scotland.

Everyone at the Sheffield Steeldogs would like to congratulate Bailey, Joe, Fin and Elliott on their selections and representing their countries at U19 level.
